I was very lucky to find Fergus right at the start of having my dad’s house renovated. Fergus is an absolute pleasure to work with. He’s a very friendly guy, and his communication was fantastic throughout the whole process. I felt comfortable that I could always ask him questions, and get clarification about what needed to be done, and why. He was also really helpful at running through the pros and cons of different building options at various stages – in particular he was very clear on how different solutions might alter the speed and cost of a given job. This was a huge bonus to me as someone who isn’t particularly clued up about building work.
More than anything though, I would recommend Fergus for his hard work ethic and integrity. He always took great care to make sure everything was done to the highest standards, and was fantastic at cleaning up after himself as he worked. He really takes pride in what he does, and I really can’t recommend him highly enough.
We have enlisted and employed the skills, energy, and services offered by Fergus on more than one occasion, and never been disappointed.
In fact, we have always been delighted!
Fergus approaches new jobs and tackles the work involved in a quiet, thoughtful, and highly efficient way. He has building skills, knowledge, and wisdom to write home about and way beyond his years.
In laying an extensive beautiful circular low-walled path in our garden, he was creative, industrious, and pertinacious, seeing the job through whatever problems it presented.
His work on our beautiful Garden Cabin was positively masterful; his attention to detail remarkable; and his work with wood wonderful.
While doing jobs here, Fergus made brilliant use of his and our time. It’s clear that he loves his work, respects his customers, and likes to see a high-quality finished product. His workmanship is terrific and great value.
We have no hesitation in recommending Fergus to you. He’s brilliant!
I myself, became an apprentice carpenter in 1953 and since have done every aspect of building and have 40 odd years of experience with it. I then attended Falmouth college to study cabinet making aged 53. I received City and Guilds, distinctions and letters from the ‘Tate’ and ‘Victoria and Albert Museum’ for my work.
I have witnessed Fergus’s workmanship and it is of outstanding quality, covering the full range of trades. The kitchen units and worktops that he makes are of supreme quality. The dwelling that he has built, he has done the full monty; footings, internal/external walls, roof, floor, insulation, plumbing, drains and landscaping.
I worked with Fergus when he first started out. I found him to be hardworking, enthusiastic, personable and willing to learn. Several years hence he has become a first class tradesman organising and managing his own building projects and finishing to the highest standard.
Fergus has worked with me on my new build in Bristol, Mostly on internal brickwork and exterior cedar cladding, both tasks were demanding due to the unusual angles and quality of perfectionism required.I would have no hesitation employing Fergus in the future and would highly recommend him. He shows great pride in his work and is especially suited to bespoke quality jobs where his knowledge, craftsmanship and attention to detail is evident to see in all his previous projects.
